Happy so far, does what I bought it for, no X
Due to Amazon handling shipping the product arrived swift and without hassle.Found the filter to be in a foil sealed cardboard box that has magnetic locking (no signs of it beyong used already as some others report on K&F products, glass also in a good state). However in the box is a plastic filter case that is way too large for this 62mm filter (it will hold filters up to 90mm diameter). The filter itself is in a small plastic bag so it will not get damaged by moving around in the filter case. That small bag is however closed with some kind of adhesive and that is what I do not like because there is a chance of the adhesive sticking to the filter glass (I had that before with another filter(not K&F), had to use solvent to clean the glass which damaged the glass coating).Although there is foam on the bottom of the filter case that clamps the filter if one closes the lid it might be a better idea to have a filter case on hand that matches the filter (70mm diameter, 10mm height) so there a better prevention against the filter moving around in the case.I have tested the filter with a camcorder and a bridge camera (both lacking a built in ND filter) for recording Full HD 1920x1080 video. So a not that high resolution. For that scenario the filter suits my needs. It allows me to use 1/100th shutter speed even at bright days which gives me much smoother subject and pan movements (I hate the stuttering effect due to higher shutter speed), it also gives me shallower depth of field. The filter rotates smoothly between the end stops of ND2 and ND32, so no steps. Which is what I like because of perfectly tuning the exposure (I am running the camera's at a fixed iris and shutter setting, the filter is my way of controlling the exposure). It also helps me overcome a major shortcomming of my bridge camera running in video mode: it only has discrete iris steps.I haven't seen the "X" (well known when using variable ND filters) appearing, but that might be because this filter is only ND2-ND32 (which I have chosen based on my camera characteristics). What would have been a nice feature to have added to the filter is a small lever on the adjustment ring in order to be able to smoothly adjust exposure while the camera is recording. Now I have to grasp the adjustment ring and turn which most of the time result in my hand appearing in the picture .....But still I am happy with this filter, at least for my use case, and for sure at this price.
